Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has officially announced the commencement of the 2025/2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Online Screening Exercise for all candidates seeking admission into the university through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The online screening will begin on Monday, 4th August 2025, and will run until Sunday, 24th August 2025. Only UTME candidates who chose Bayero University as their first choice and have attained the minimum UTME scores for various faculties and programmes, as specified by the university, are eligible to participate in the screening exercise.
Candidates are encouraged to adhere strictly to the timelines and instructions to ensure a seamless screening process.

Screening Procedure and Steps
Step 1: Login
Candidates should visit the Bayero University official website homepage https://www.buk.edu.ng/Home and click on the link titled 2025 UTME ONLINE SCREENING EXERCISE.Step 2: Profile Update
Candidates must log in using their JAMB UTME Registration Number as the username and their UTME aggregate score as the password. They will then complete the online application form. Note that the photograph uploaded during the JAMB registration will serve as the official identification for all admitted students throughout their academic tenure at Bayero University, Kano.Step 3: Generate Payment Invoice
Candidates are to generate and download a Personalised Payment Invoice (PPI) that contains a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR). The screening fee is N2,000.00. Payment can be made online using Credit/Debit Card, Internet Banking, or offline by printing the invoice and paying at any commercial bank nationwide. After successful payment, candidates can immediately print an acknowledgment slip. Bank payment users must verify their payment via the “Check Your Payment” button on the screening portal before printing the acknowledgment card.Important Notices
- Any candidate who supplies false information will be immediately disqualified.
- Blind and foreign candidates are exempted from the aptitude test but must complete the online registration.
- Failure to register for the screening exercise within the stipulated dates will render candidates ineligible for admission consideration.
