📢 2024/2025 Academic Session: OAU Announces Resumption Dates for Fresh and Returning Students
The Senate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, at its sitting on Thursday, 18th September, 2025, has approved the academic calendar for the 2024/2025 session, setting the stage for another year of excellence, innovation, and transformative learning at the premier institution.
📌 Resumption Schedule for Fresh Students
The new academic session officially commences on 11th October, 2025, with fresh students coming into residence in phases:
- Saturday, October 11, 2025: Faculties of Administration, Arts, Environmental Design and Management (EDM), Education, Law, and Social Sciences.
- Sunday, October 12, 2025: Faculties of Agriculture, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Computing Science and Engineering, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology.
🗓️ Key Dates for Fresh Students
- Course Registration (Online): October 13, 2025
- Orientation Programme: October 13 – 17, 2025
- ICT Training: October 20 – 24, 2025
📌 Resumption for Returning Students
All returning undergraduate students are expected back on campus on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
📅 Academic Activities (Harmattan Semester)
- Lectures Begin: Monday, October 27, 2025
- Normal Course Registration Ends: October 31, 2025
- Late Registration (with penalty): November 24 – 28, 2025
- Matriculation Ceremony: December 3, 2025
- Semester Duration: 13 weeks of lectures, a revision week, examinations, and breaks (ending March 2026)
📅 Rain Semester
The Rain Semester is scheduled to commence on Monday, March 30, 2026.
