Adeleke Lays Foundation for Africa’s First AI-Focused University in Osun
In a groundbreaking move to reshape the future of education and innovation in Nigeria, Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has officially launched the foundation of what is poised to become Africa’s first university dedicated to Artificial Intelligence. The new institution, Curators University, is sited in Modakeke, Osun State.
Represented by the Osun State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Dipo Eluwole, the Governor noted that the establishment of Curators University aligns with his administration’s five-point agenda, with a core focus on education and youth development. He emphasized the state government’s commitment to supporting innovative academic ventures that will equip young Nigerians with skills for the future.
“The launch of this university in Modakeke marks a significant milestone not only for Osun but for Africa at large. It reflects our vision to invest in high-impact educational opportunities. I urge the founders to ensure that Curators University becomes a centre of excellence in both learning and character,” Adeleke stated.
Also speaking, Barrister Abimbola Amusan, Chairman of the Planning Committee, described the institution as a future-forward academic hub. “Curators University is set to be a global centre for innovation, empowering youth, creating employment, and stimulating long-term economic growth in the region.”
With construction underway and public interest growing, Curators University stands as a bold step toward a digital-first academic revolution in Africa, starting from the heart of Osun State.
