📢 JAMB Directs 2025 UTME Candidates to Re-Upload WAEC SSCE Results
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a directive requiring all 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates to re-upload their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC SSCE) results. This move is part of efforts to safeguard the integrity of Nigeria’s tertiary admissions process.
🚨 Why the Re-Upload Is Necessary
According to JAMB’s weekly bulletin released on Monday, the directive applies to candidates who uploaded their O’level results before the final release of the 2025 WAEC SSCE results.
The Board disclosed that many students, particularly those with an “awaiting results” status, had submitted incomplete or unofficial records. To prevent discrepancies, JAMB has cleared all previously uploaded results from its system.
“Some candidates who sat for the UTME with ‘awaiting results’ had prematurely uploaded incomplete WAEC records before the final release,” JAMB explained.
“To address the issue, JAMB has mandated a fresh upload for every candidate, irrespective of whether the new results differ from those uploaded earlier.”
📍 What Candidates Need to Do
All UTME candidates are strongly advised to take the following steps immediately:
- Visit any JAMB-accredited CBT centre.
- Re-upload your final, official 2025 WAEC SSCE results.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness during the upload process.
⚠️ Note: Failure to comply with this directive may result in disqualification from the 2025 admission cycle.
🧠 The Bigger Picture
This directive comes after WAEC corrected its 2025 SSCE results, which initially showed a lower pass rate due to a grading error. The revised results are now available, prompting JAMB to reset its system to reflect only the updated data.
By enforcing this re-upload, JAMB seeks to ensure a fair, transparent, and credible admission process across Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
