📍 UI Releases 2025/2026 Departmental Cut-Off Marks: Full Details Inside
The University of Ibadan (UI) has officially released the cut-off marks for the 2025/2026 admission exercise across all faculties and departments. This update is crucial for candidates who participated in the university’s Post-UTME screening.
📊 How UI Aggregate Score is Calculated
Admission into UI is highly competitive and follows a strict aggregate system that combines both UTME and Post-UTME scores. Here’s the breakdown:
- UTME Score: Divided by 8 (represents 50% of the aggregate)
- Post-UTME Score: Divided by 2 (represents the remaining 50%)
Example:
If a candidate scores 280 in UTME and 72 in Post-UTME,
Aggregate = (280 ÷ 8) + (72 ÷ 2) = 35 + 36 = 71.
This aggregate is then compared against the cut-off marks for the candidate’s chosen course.
⚖️ Merit, Catchment, and ELDS Breakdown
In line with the federal character policy, UI’s released cut-off marks reflect three categories:
- Merit: For candidates with the highest scores regardless of state of origin.
- Catchment Areas: For candidates from states considered part of UI’s geographical catchment.
- ELDS (Educationally Less Developed States): Special consideration for candidates from underrepresented states.
Candidates are advised to check the attached image to view the detailed cut-off marks for each department across these categories.
📌 What to Do Next
